VIOFO A129 IR Dual Channel
The A129 IR is the highly anticipated 2-channel dash cam offered by VIOFO for Uber, Lyft, and Taxi drivers. It takes advantage of the Sony Exmor R Starvis Image Sensor along with a new and improved lens to offer Full HD on both front and interior cameras at 30 frames per second. With the VIOFO app, taking out the memory card will no longer be necessary as it provides live preview, video download and playback, and settings adjustment. It also offers a 2" HD screen which allows for easy setup and playback of videos as a convenient alternative to using the VIOFO app.

Fantastic Video quality

I am not Uber driver. Buying A129 Duo IR to replace single front facing dash camera for two main reasons: First, I need a dash camera not only record upcoming traffic, but also be able to record our upcoming rear seat family member. Second, I need a stealth design dash cam, because I travel to SF bay area every other week, sometimes have to park my car on street overnight.
Both front and interior camera are very easy to install. Make sure well clean the windshield installation area. I used alcohol to get rid of grease and left over residual on windshield. The front facing camera could easily be hide behind rearview mirror. For better monitoring our rear seat passenger, I attached interior facing camera to rear window. Overall, it took me about 20 minutes to finish installation.
What I really like about A129 Duo IR is its video quality. The front camera is clear like cinema, no matter at daytime or night. The footage color is nature and very close to original colors. Nighttime video quality beats what I expected. The night video is bright, but amazingly very low noise, you could see everything even without any streetlight. Most of time, I feel I don’t need turn on rear(interior) camera IR mode, because the streetlight is good enough to illuminate car interior already.

What I like about A129 Duo IR:
• Fantastic video quality both front and rear camera, from day to night.
• Stealth body design--- I don’t have to remove and hide dash camera anymore, while parking on street overnight.
• Rotatable interior camera could easily set up as rearview camera.

  • Can I buy the rear camera separate? I don’t see a package that has all three (front, rear & interior)?
